Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. For me, the latest has been a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis in 2026. After a few years of being caught up in the whirlwind of everyday life, I’m finally ready to share my journey. If not now, when? This blog marks my return to writing, and I want to invite you along as I navigate this new chapter.

Facing the Diagnosis

Receiving a diagnosis like ulcerative colitis can feel overwhelming. Suddenly, your body once again feels unfamiliar, and questions flood your mind. What does this mean for my daily life? How will I manage symptoms? What treatments are available? I’ve spent the past months learning about the condition, connecting with healthcare providers, and adjusting to my new reality. Needless to say it's been scary and overwhelming but I'm taking it one day a time, and trying to remember to breathe :)

Finding Strength in Community

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of community. Connecting with others who understand what I’m going through has been instrumental in helping me. Whether through online forums, local support groups, or social media, sharing stories and resources helps reduce the isolation that can come with chronic illness.

In addition to my fictional stories, I plan to share updates on my health journey here, along with resources I find helpful. If you’re living with ulcerative colitis, hashimotos, endometriosis, or any other autoimmune disorders and are interested in learning more, I hope you join this space.

Adjusting Daily Life and Habits

Living with multiple autoimmune disorders means paying close attention to my body and making adjustments to daily routines. Diet plays a big role in managing symptoms. I’ve been experimenting with recipes that are gentle on the digestive system but are still flavorful and satisfying. I’ll be sharing some of these recipes here, hoping they might help others looking for ideas.

Beyond food, managing stress and getting enough rest have become priorities. I’m learning to listen to my body’s signals and to be patient with myself on tougher days. This journey is not just about managing a condition but about embracing a new way of living.

Writing as a Healing Tool

Writing has always been a way for me to process experiences and connect with others. After a break from posting, this return feels like a fresh start. Writing is helping me make sense of the changes and find meaning in the challenges.

What to Expect Going Forward

Here’s what you can look forward to in this space:

  • Personal updates on my health and how I’m managing my autoimmune disorders.

  • Practical resources, including tips from healthcare professionals and community members.

  • Recipes designed to be gentle and nourishing. My books discuss multiple types of autoimmune temporary protocols so there will be something for everyone.

  • New fictional short stories and new book chapters from Saving Christmas Manor and more!

I hope this blog becomes a place where honesty and support thrive. Chronic illness can feel isolating, but sharing our journeys helps build understanding, empathy, and resilience. You are not alone.

Final Thoughts

Starting this blog again feels like reclaiming a part of myself that got lost in the busyness of life. Ulcerative colitis has changed my path, but it hasn’t defined me. By sharing my personal journey, and my fictional stories, I want to offer hope and support to anyone facing similar challenges.

Cheers to healing and happy reading!
