A Happy Halloween recipe for all those autoimmune warriors out there.
Today, I’m going to share a short goolish recipe I like to make at Halloween. It’s Halloween apple sauce with some nutty goodness.
What you’ll need are some apples (any type you want). You’ll also want some cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 1lb of gala apples
- 3 tablespoons of cinnamon
- A skillet
- Half a cup of water
- Half cup of pecans crushed
- Half cup of walnuts crushed
- Vegetable peeler
- 2 Glass bowls
- Baking sheet
- 1/3 cup of honey
Directions:
1.) First wash your apples, pat dry and set aside.
2.) With the vegetable peeler, peel all of the apples.
3.) Slice the peeled apples and put back. Put them in the glass bowl.
4.) In the bowl add the cinnamon to the apples and stir incorporating the cinnamon. Make sure all of the apples are covered in cinnamon.
5.) Put the skillet on the burner and turn on low heat. Stir intermittently for twenty minutes or until the apples are tender and soft.
6.) Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
7.) In a glass bowl, add the nuts, and the honey. Stir and mix well.
8.) On a baking sheet, pour the mixture onto the oiled baking sheet.
9.) Bake the nuts for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and set aside.
10.) Turn the burner off, put the apples into a bowl or a serving dish. Sprinkle the nuts on top of the applesauce. You can serve hot or cold.
A Happy Halloween to all my readers out there!
Have a Spooktacular and safe night.
