Inspiring Stories for Autoimmune Warriors

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I’m K, and I write fictional stories about people living with autoimmune diseases. These stories are a long time coming. I’ve been writing them for a few years but if I were honest with myself I’ve been thinking about them since I was first diagnosed with my autoimmune diseases back in 2014. These stories are meant to serve as a fun, light respite from the complicated, at times incredibly challenging, difficult world of autoimmune disease.

I wish I had knowledge about these types of stories when I first diagnosed. For so many of us in the community, we might not get the support we need from the outside world as we manage our diseases, maintain regular everyday life, and work toward healing. One of the reasons I started writing specifically about #autoimmunedisease was because I wasn’t seeing the level of support and accurate knowledge in the entertainment industry about what it’s actually like being chronically sick. It seems like a lot of the time, the entertainment industry spreads misinformation about our community to entertain and mock instead of understand, support, and acknowledge. It frustrated and saddened me so I decided to do something about it…to educate, entertain and support. Hence K Cambridge’s inspiring fictional stories for autoimmune warriors was born.

I just want to say when it comes to support on this blog, the fictional stories that are being told tell one story, but there are SO many stories out there, all each valid. No one experience negates the experience of another. Everyone’s healing journey is personal, individual and specific. That’s something to celebrate not to diminish. We are all in the same boat regardless of what healing measures we decide to take. That’s going to be celebrated here. We must support ourselves but also each other so I’m here and I’m listening. I hope you enjoy these stories, and find the love and support you need on your healing journey.
